Knock, Knock Who’s There

This delightful introduction to the ever popular form of playground humor is sure to delight youngsters. Each two-page spread presents a new joke opposite a gatefold flap that delivers the punch line. The colorful illustrations of the animal characters demonstrate the humor of the play on words. For instance, “Knock, knock. Who’s there? Anita” shows a neat little pig in a sundress holding flowers. Opening the gatefold bearing the words, “Anita who?” reveals a muddied porcine with shovel and pail exclaiming, “Anita bath!” The multicolored pastel pages provide a funny backdrop for this collection. This is a great choice for individual sharing or storytime, but be prepared-children are bound to repeat these jokes again and again.-Hennie Vaandrager, Byron Township Library, Byron Center, MI Copyright 2000 Cahners Business Information.
